In 2011 the Fremont Recycling and Transfer station became the first, and only Material Recovery Facility powered by renewable solar energy.
Since the commissioning of our 398kW system, our facility has generated more than 5 million kilowatt hours of renewable energy and avoided more than 4,000 metric tons of carbon emissions.

Our facility is open to all members of the public as a one-stop location to recycle unwanted items, disposal services for non-recyclable waste, and for the safe management of common household hazardous waste.
