Hours of Operation

Our facility is open to the public Wednesday through Friday from 8:30 am until 2:30 pm, and Saturday from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm.
HINT: Our facility is busiest between the time we open and 11:00 am. Try to avoid these hours if possible.

Expired Medications/Sharps

You can safely dispose of your outdated or unwanted medications at our facility. Simply empty your pills in a plastic baggie and make your liquid prescription labels unreadable and bring them to our drop off during normal business hours. Please keep in mind that we cannot accept controlled substances. If you're not sure, call your Pharmacist.

Home generated sharps can be dropped off in "approved" sharps containers during normal business hours.

Services

The Fremont Recycling and Transfer Station hosts Alameda County's newest Household Hazardous Waste Facility. Conveniently located at the transfer station we gladly accept household hazardous waste from all jurisdictions within Alameda County Free of Charge!

Our facility can accept up to 125 lbs (or 15 gallons) of any of the following materials in containers no larger than 5 gallons

Paint (oil & latex) Auto Batteries Fluorescent lamps / twisty bulbs
Paint thinner & solvents Used oil & Trans fluid Computers & Peripherals
Aerosol Cans(paints/cleaners) Used oil filters Computer Monitors
Herbicides/Pesticides Antifreeze Televisions (up to 4 per visit)
Pool and Spa chemicals Brake fluid Video/Stereo equipment
Cooking Oil Gasoline/fuel Phones/other electronics

We cannot accept ammunition, explosives, fireworks, asbestos, treated wood, radioactive materials, medical waste, or controlled substances.
